September 17: untitled
Saturday, September 18th, 2010Recently I’ve been exploring how to paint faster, and came upon the concept of speed painting. Mostly used for commercial applications like storyboarding and concept art, most of what I’ve seen grows out of often random rough strokes, and then roves over the whole piece adding finer and finer detail – but still leaving many of the shapes only minimally defined (in a nutshell, there’s quite a bit more to it). So I tried it out!
September 10: fun with clay!
Friday, September 10th, 2010So a few days ago we all played Cranium, and I got a handful of clay and started making little dinosaurs. Then I thought ‘wouldn’t it be fun to make a little dinosaur movie?’ And yes, it was indeed fun.
Then, after playing with my dinosaurs for a while, I wondered what else I could do -- so I fell into the tried and true (cliche), battle between cats and birds. This one is marginally less pointless than the first!

A huge thanks to the most AWESOME bunch of people on the planet for giving me the Best Birthday Ever, seriously (I love you all). And props to Michelle for making me this incredible fairy crown. Rumor has it there will be an Etsy store sometime in the future with all her amazing headgear (I’ll keep you posted).
